· Diesel Production Units – The rising cost of fuel delivery to remote sites has increased the popularity of diesel production units (also known as topping units). These units produce fuel suitable for use in electrical generators and off-road vehicles from crude oil. The most common use is at Central Production Facilities where crude oil is readily available, but refined fuels are difficult or expensive to import.o Our units will typically produce a broad range distillate fuel (diesel, kerosene, or gas oil boiling ranges) suitable for engine or turbine use. The heavier residuals and lighter naphtha products are blended and re-injected into the sales pipeline.o Diesel production capacity varies from as small as 50 barrels per day to as large as required. Turndown capability is generally about 50% of nameplate capacity.o The fired heater for vaporizing the incoming crude requires fuel. The most preferable fuel is flare gas from the CPF. If waste fuel gas is not available, the unit can be designed to burn diesel fuel or specialized equipment can be added to allow burning residual fuel oil.o The production units can be designed with or without steam stripping of the products depending on utility availability. Instrument air compressors can be included.o Alloy construction is available if required by the crude properties.·
Gas
Conditioning Skids – Electrical turbo-generators fired on either natural
gas or flare gas require fuel gas conditioning to eliminate the
possibility of liquid droplets in the fuel stream.
The typical design includes: o
Pressure let down system o
Liquid knockout separators (usually with vane separator
technology) o
Cartridge filters o
Electric heater (for increasing the gas temperature above the
dew point) o
Flow meter o
PLC control system with automatic shutdown
· Packaged Metering Units – Metering gas or liquid flow can often be accomplished by off-the-shelf technology, but occasionally custom designed packaged units are required. Ventech has designed and fabricated metering systems for products such as natural gas, diesel fuel, and asphalt. · Terminals – Ventech has extensive experience in the design of terminal facilities for import, export, or transshipment of petroleum products including crude oil, gas oil, jet fuel, motor gasoline, heavy fuel oils, and asphalt. We provide engineering, procurement, ocean freight (for CIF projects) and installation (for turn-key projects) of all required terminal components: o Civil works (including containment dikes and drainage systems) o Fixed or floating roof storage tanks (including metering and fire suppression) o Pumps and piping manifold systems o Import/Export pipelines (including pig launchers/receivers) o Custody transfer meter system o Truck loading racks o Rail car loading racks o Utilities (emergency generator, firewater pumps, wastewater treatment, etc…) |
