Scheduler

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prior to project start, create and set a baseline schedule for EPC schedules detailing the sequence of all work to be performed. Ensures baseline is maintained through the use of approved change order / variance procedures.
  • Maintain master schedule for project, identify and record the impact of work performed and not performed as scheduled. Evaluate actual EPC progress and provide regular scheduled updates.
  • Publish monthly project reports such as progress curve, look ahead and critical path schedule, resource requirements, etc.
  • Maintain relationships with project personnel, particularly with discipline leads in home office and at site.
  • Incorporate Resource and/or Man-hour data into schedules as required.
  • Serve as technical advisor for the solution of difficult scheduling problems. Interface with Project Team to discuss impact of work and resolution of problems.
  • Consult the appropriate project team members and Ventech’s estimating procedures as a means of ensuring that proper planning is completed prior to the commencement of work.
  • Assist Project Managers in creating short-term schedules, monitor such schedules to determine impact on master schedule, and help in formulating actions to correct scheduling problems.
  • Provide information as needed on the content, modification, or presentation of project schedule.
  • Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and remain current on the advancements in scheduling software in order to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Educational and experience requirements include a relevant bachelors’ degree plus.  Must possess five (5) or more years engineering, procurement & construction scheduling experience in Oil, Gas & Chemical industry.
  • Equivalent combinations of training and/or related experience will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling programs i.e., Primavera (P5.0), etc. and MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook is beneficial.
  • Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical ability, verbal & written communication skills, ability to interface with all levels of management and willingness to travel is a must.
